OUR VISION
Cure Diabetes, Inc. began in 1983 with one doctor’s dream to use education as a form of treatment and method of prevention in disease state management.
Cure Diabetes, Inc in its origination focused on funding diabetes camps for kids- bringing the child with diabetes to a comprehensive, intensive teaching experience.
Our goal is to reach out to community centers, senior centers, public housing, and churches where participants feel comfortable and familiar with the environment. Instead of inviting the participants to a clinical environment, we are taking the education to the participant in a palatable, fun and interactive environment.
In 2022, the foundation was revived. Cure’s vision is now to put diabetes prevention and education on wheels and take it directly to underserved, high-risk populations in the North Alabama. These regions will include Madison, Marshall, Morgan, Dekalb, Limestone, and Jackson counties.
We have partnered with Star Discount Pharmacy to bring the CDC Prevent T2 Lifestyle Change Program out to our local communities.
In addition to our current efforts Cure Diabetes, Inc has local community partners that are collaborating for diabetes awareness and prevention 1 mile and 2 mile walks. The walks are scheduled throughout Madison County, Alabama this year at local community centers, parks, schools and YMCAs.
